Tajikistan attracts the most Asian tourists
Tajikistan was awarded the “Most Attractive Country in Asia for Mountaineering Tourism” award, NIAT “Khovar” reports with reference to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia.
The Republic received the award on February 24 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) during the award ceremony “Top Asia Corporate Ball 2023”.
The results were summed up according to the results of voting by readers of one of the well-known Malaysian media “RHASDNBHD”.
RHASDNBHD is known for publishing Top 10 of Malaysia magazines with a monthly readership of 400,000.
The main direction of the aforementioned media is the publication of interesting materials about countries, companies and personalities that have become the basis for development and innovation in the Asian region or have great creative potential in various fields.
Recall, earlier it was reported that in 2022 the country was visited by 999.3 thousand foreign tourists , which is 3.4 times or 703 thousand tourists more than in 2021. Such data was announced on February 10 by the Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic.
It was noted that most of all tourists came to Tajikistan from Uzbekistan – 690 thousand. Russia is in second place – 136 thousand citizens came from there. The top five also included Kazakhstan (25 thousand tourists), Turkey (7.5 thousand) and the United States (about 7 thousand).
