Tajik judo fighters will compete at the 2023 Tashkent Grand Slam
The judo team of Tajikistan consisting of 13 people will perform at the Tashkent Grand Slam 2023 tournament in Tashkent.
According to the press center of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, the tournament will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan on March 3-5 this year.
According to the source, 384 wrestlers are expected to participate in the tournament, including 205 men and 179 women from 52 countries.
Tajikistan at Tashkent Grand Slam 2023 will be represented by 13 wrestlers, including two women.
In particular, the colors of the country will be defended by Muhammadsoleh Kuvvatov (up to 60 kg), Emomali Nurali, Shahboz Saidaburorov (up to 66 kg), Behruz Khojazoda, Mahmadsharif Najmiddinov (up to 73 kg), Somon Mahmadbekov, Muhammadjon Abdujalilov (up to 81 kg), Jahongir Majidov , Komronshoh Ustopirien (up to 90 kg), Ibrokhim Elmurodov, Temur Rakhimov (+100 kg) – among men and Shukron Karchiev (up to 48 kg) and Shohid Kalandarov (up to 57 kg) – among women
Before the tournament, the judo team of Tajikistan underwent a 10-day training under the mentorship of Japanese specialist Tamura Toru
By tradition, on the first day of the tournament, men will perform in the weight categories up to 60 and up to 66 kilograms and women in the weight categories up to 48, up to 52 and up to 57 kilograms.
On the second day, wrestlers competing in the weight categories up to 73 and up to 81 kilograms (men) and up to 63 and up to 70 kilograms (women) will take to the wrestling mat.
On the third and final day of the competition, athletes in the weight categories up to 90 kg, up to 100 kg, +100 kg (men), up to 78 kg and over 78 kg (women) will compete for medals.
Athletes who won gold medals will receive 5,000 euros each, a cash prize of 3,000 euros is provided for second place, and bronze medal winners will receive 1,500 euros each.
