Morocco condemns Israel’s deadly attack in West Bank’s Jenin
Morocco has condemned the deadly Israeli air raids launched against the Palestinian Jenin refugee camp, voicing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Speaking at a joint press conference Tuesday in Rabat with Omani foreign minister Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi, Morocco’s top diplomat Nasser Bourita said Rabat reiterates its condemnation and rejection of the Israeli aggressions on Jenin, deploring the death and destruction caused by Israeli military operation.
Israel launched one of its biggest attacks on the Jenin refugee camp area in two decades, killing at least 11 Palestinians and wounding dozens. Thousands of Palestinian residents have fled their homes after the attacks.
This latest incursion into the West Bank’s northernmost camp began on Sunday night as hundreds of soldiers poured in and drone attacks and missiles damaged buildings and critical infrastructure.
Morocco expresses its support and solidarity with the Palestinian people during this “delicate and critical phase,” while reiterating its appeal to the international community and world powers to intervene to put an end to the aggression suffered by this people and its territory, said Nasser Bourita,
The Kingdom of Morocco reiterates its condemnation and rejection of the multiple Israeli aggressions against Jenin and the death and destruction they have caused, Bourita said.
The North African Kingdom expresses its support and solidarity with the Palestinian people and calls on the international community to intervene to put an end to the Israeli aggression and sufferings endured by the Palestinian people, said Bourita.
These new attacks undermine peace in the region, fueling extremism and violence, warned the FM, affirming that there will be no peace in the Middle East without a just and final settlement of the Palestinian issue.
For his part, the Omani Foreign Minister said a lasting peace and stability of the Middle East region hinges on reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
He urged the international community and superpowers to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, advocating the two-state solution: an independent and viable State of Palestine living alongside the State of Israel in peace and security.
