Libya’s Chief of Election Commission in Turkey for Talks on Cooperation
Imad Sayeh, chairman of the Libyan High National Election Commission, held talks on Thursday with President of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey, Ahmet Yener, in Ankara to discuss cooperation and “exchange of experiences”, according to a statement by the Libyan commission.
“We were keen to track the progress of the elections in Turkey,” Sayeh said during a speech at the Turkish Supreme Electoral Council. “There is no doubt that the success of this institution contributed to the acceptance by all political parties in Turkey of the results of these elections,” he added.
For his part, Yener affirmed the depth of historical relations between the two countries, expressing his wishes for success in the upcoming elections in Libya.
