Helukabel, a German manufacturer of cables, establishes a facility in Morocco
The site is part of the company’s decision to expand its presence in Africa.

Rabat – German cable and wire manufacturer Helukabel announced the opening of a site in Morocco as part of the company’s approach to strengthening its presence in Africa.
“In February, the electrical connection technology specialist opened a subsidiary in Morocco,” the company said last week in a press release.
The company chose Morocco’s Casablanca for its site, stressing that this opening will help the company to be “in closer proximity to customers located in this dynamic growth market.”
Commenting on the opening, the Managing Director of Helukabel Portugal Eduardo Soares said: “We have observed stable economic growth in Morocco, especially over the past two years.”
The company’s press release said that support for the Helukabel Moroccan subsidiary “will be provided by colleagues from Portugal, who have been active in the North African country since 2017.”
Soares emphasized the potential of Morocco’s engineering and renewable energy sectors. Morocco’s renewable energy assets positioned the country among other leaders in the sector.
Consulting firm EY ranked Morocco 19th globally in its index of renewable energy attractiveness last year, featuring many giant in the economic field – including the US, China, Germany and the UK, among others.
“That’s why we decided to further expand our activities thereby establishing our new location,” Soares said, referencing Morocco’s renewable energy potential.
The new subsidiary seeks to help the company to “deepen” its understanding of its customers’ demands in order for Helukabel to provide targeted support and flexibility.
The new site in Morocco marks the second subsidiary for the German company in Africa.
Helukabel, which has 61 sites, in 38 countries across the world, and is also present in South Africa.
